Fed:CFMEU warns against changing skills accrediation for workers

A union's urging state and territory governments to reject a federal government plan
to make it easier for guest workers to enter the country.

The Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union says the proposal's on the table
at today's Council of Australia Governments meeting.

The union's construction national secretary JOHN SUTTON .. says the government wants
to use overseas labour instead of addressing Australia's skills crisis.

Mr SUTTON says there's a danger these workers could be assessed outside Australia ..

taking control over skills levels away from Australia.
