Fed: Group targets embassies
CANBERRA, April 11 AAP - An international Muslim group today targeted embassies andconsulates in Australia and the Middle East, urging Muslim countries to protest againstthe Iraq war.
About 150 members of the Hizb ut Tahrir, or the Liberation Party, travelled to theembassies of Kuwait, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia to protest againstthe United States.
The group wants Muslim countries to expel Americans from Islamic lands.
"What is unacceptable is the US aggression and the submission of Muslim rulers surroundingIraq and beyond, allowing this aggression to happen," spokesman Wassim Doureihi said.
Mr Doureihi said members who visited embassies and consulates in Sydney and Canberrahad got lukewarm receptions.
