Seasonal airline traffic edges up.

May 3--Traffic through Thailand's major airports both in terms of aircraft movements and passenger throughput continued to edge up in the first quarter of this year, spurred by high seasonal travel demand.

The total number of travellers passing through Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hat Yai rose 7.7 percent year-on-year to 14.8 million while aircraft movements, both take-offs and landings, grew 12.3 percent to 100,486.

Total international arrivals, departure and transiting travellers increased 6.9 percent year-on-year to 9.3 million, with domestic passengers rising 9.1 percent to 5.5 …
