NSW: Man suffers heart attack at the wheel

SYDNEY, Dec 15 AAP - A man is lucky to be alive after suffering a heart attack while
driving along a busy western Sydney road in peak hour traffic yesterday.

Police said the 53-year-old suffered an attack while driving along Henry Lawson Drive
in Milperra about 5.40pm.

He was able to stop his car just before losing consciousness.

Inspector Rick Johnson of Bankstown police said two passing motorists and three off-duty
policemen pulled over to assist the man.

The motorists established he was still breathing and the officers administered CPR
until an ambulance arrived.

The man was in a stable condition at Bankstown Hospital.
