At about 5 p.m. on Dec. 31, Alice Begley, Guilderland town historian, received a phone call from supervisor-elect Yerbury informing her that she was being replaced, no reason given.

Town residents who have come to know Alice, her superb work ethic, her superior historical knowledge and her inquiring mind are going to miss her sharing and caring. She has brought nothing but good will to this town and is undoubtedly the best public relations person we have ever had.
